After the First Rolling The billet was now long enough to make Marina's ring:  but it was still too short for mine. Therefore I annealed the billet, quenched it, pickled it, neutralized it and repeated the rolling until it was long enough to make both Marina's and my rings. The curvature introduced was due to the billet being slightly wider at one end, because of a blob of solder that I had left on one side. In retrospect, I should have ground off that extra blob of solder to make a more even billet.
