Final Shaping I used a very light grip on a vice with brass jaws. These are much softer than steel jaws, so they won't leave bite marks in the piece. I then did the final fitting, by very carefully stretching the rings on the mandrel for the perfect fit:  I did this while checking the fit on our actual fingers. Ideally it would be difficult, but still possible, to remove. This is because I planned to file a "comfort fit" later, so I wanted a non-beveled ring to fit very snugly.
