Iron Meteorite Source: Outer Space (through a friend) Purity: ~95% This meteorite weighs a whopping half pound and is a pleasure to hold. It's quite nice to be holding a piece of the exploded core of a giant star! I analyzed the meteorite by EDX, and it contains the largest amounts of elements "easily created by fusion" - i.e. Carbon, Oxygen, Silicon, Calcium, Iron, Nickel, etc. Possibly my only non-terrestrial posession. |

Iron Powder Source: Lab Cleanout Purity: 99.99% This Iron powder came from a lab cleanout. It is still fairly unoxidized, as can be seen from its light gray color. Plans underway for recovering the iron from a box of fortified cereal. |
